Important Update concerning GreenHouse Mentoring
31st March 2026
Last term, we informed you that after serving young people in the community for 25 years under the leadership of Stopsley Baptist Church (SBC), the Church Trustees had made the difficult decision that GreenHouse Mentoring (GHM) would no longer run as a project of SBC after 31st March 2026.
During that time, the GHM team worked extremely hard to find ways to continue the project, recognising how loved and valued it was among the families and organisations we worked with. We explored every possible solution in an effort to sustain the work.
As previously communicated, our hope had been to transition the project to its own charity with a separate charity number by April 2026. Sadly, despite our best efforts, this did not prove achievable and we were unable to proceed with that plan.
With deep regret, GreenHouse Mentoring formally closed on 31st March 2026.
In the final weeks of the project, the team worked closely with SBC to bring the programme to a careful and supportive conclusion. Staff, volunteer mentors, and church leadership sought to ensure that the young people and families involved were supported through the transition and prepared for what came next.
We remain incredibly grateful for the many years of encouragement, partnership, and involvement from families, schools, organisations, volunteers, and supporters. Together we celebrated the fun we shared, the skills that were developed, and the many memories that were made over 25 years of mentoring young people in the community.
